Chilham Castle is off the A252 between Charing and Canterbury, about 6 miles from Canterbury.
From Canterbury take the A28 towards Ashford, and bear left at Chilham on to the A252.
From the south on the M20 at Junction 9 take the A28 towards Canterbury
From the M2 at Jn 6 take the A251 towards Ashford, then turn left in Challock. Chilham castle is 3.7 miles from the junction.
The NGR of the trials field is TR 063 526. It is an open field with a slight slope. The dog may have to run unsighted. The sheep are interesting to good.
