NOTES OF A COMMITTEE MEETING
HELD ON
WEDNESDAY 12TH JANUARY 2005

1. ALLOCATION OF TASKS
Agreed that named committee members would undertake the following tasks:-
Raffle Julia
Rossettes Chris/Julia
Trophies Angela
Gate Julie
Letting out Rota to be produced for each trial Membership
Database, entry forms, running orders Mike
Letter writing for permission to run trials Angela
Newsletter Mark/Angela (sending out by Mike)
It was also agreed that Mark produced guidance notes for those letting out sheep. ACTION: MARK
Taking off was discussed – it was agreed to leave it on an ad hoc basis, although where possible if a handler can take the following handler’s sheep off then it would speed up the process.
2. TRIALS
BLACKROBIN – agreed that Mark to contact Will with the suggested dates of 29 and 30 May. Once Will has okay’d this, Angela will write the necessary letters to gain permission. ACTION: MARK/ANGELA
WHILIGH – agreed with Chris that this will run on 24 July and that this trial will have collared sheep to shed off. Dave Thompson agreed to judge.
SEVEN SISTERS – suggest 29 August. However, Chris indicated that there may not be enough sheep. Chris to speak to Sam Stanistreet this week and will let Angela know. If Chris gets the ok, then Angela to write the necessary letters to gain permission. ACTION: CHRIS/ANGELA
WISTON –possibility of running a concurrent trial discussed – open and look back –would be looked into by Rob. Rob to confirm if okay and then date to be finalised.

SUMMERDOWN – agreed to move this to 1 and 2 October. Mark to speak to David Fenner for okay, then Angela to write necessary letters to gain permission. ACTION: MARK/ANGELA
3. ENTRY FORM
Mike to send out once all dates confirmed. This will include reminder about membership subscription.

4. NEWSLETTER
Mark to write Spring newsletter. Mike to send out with entry form.

5. TREASURER’S REPORT
Julia reported:

Donation received from Jean Packham. Julia to write a thank you letter.

Agreed that Angela will look into the purchase of a large plastic banner.

Agreed that Angela will look into how to set up a website. ACTION: ANGELA
6. JOHN RUSSELL
Agreed that Angela will send a card, via Jeanette Benn, on behalf of the Society. Mark will also include a mention in the Spring newsletter. ACTION: ANGELA
7. SOCIAL EVENT
Rob suggested that the Society hold a social event, in view of the success of the AGM in December. Agreed that this would be pursued.

8. CHARITY TRIAL
It was agreed to hold a charity trial. All proceeds would go towards the Tsunami disaster. However, it was agreed that Colin Venner would look into a specific project to which the proceeds could go. Rob agreed that the trial could be held at Wiston and agreed to confirm this as soon as possible. Date agreed as 6 February. Angela agreed to produced flyers advertising the trial. Agreed to limit it to 40 dogs, two dogs per handler.
